Unbelief can be defined as not believing what God says to us and not doing what God says to do. We don’t believe Him, so we don’t obey Him.

Hebrews 3:12 says, “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God…” Here the scripture says to beware of something. Beware what? Beware that you do not have an evil heart of unbelief. A heart that does not believe (and as a result does not do) what God says. Beware. That’s a strong word. But scripture clearly says if we don’t believe and act on what God says we need to beware – be wary, be concerned.

Life pretty much comes down to just one thing for all of us. Are we going to believe what God says in the scripture and do it or not.

We’ll continue on along this line on the next post. In the meantime, look for what God says for you to do in the scripture, purposely believe it (that is, believe Him) and then do it. If you believe God, you’ll prove it by doing what He says. “Demonstrate your faith by your works.”
