There’s something about feeling like nothing is satisfying you. It brings you to a sober place. A real place. There’s something within you that already knows that nothing in this world will ever be able to truly satisfy you in the way you need it to, and yet you continue searching.

But there’s that moment when you come to an absolute crossroads, something happens that makes you really look at yourself.  You come into the sober place, when for a short while you can see things clearly. Quick! Think fast before you fall back into the la-la land of rudimentary existence.

You look at the two roads in front of you and you have these choices:

1. Go this way and keep on looking for something that always ends up being nothing.

2. Be brave enough to take this fading sobriety seriously and let these thoughts fill your mind:

“I’m only breathing right now because God wanted it to be so.

Wow, I’m actually nothing without Him.

God is a God and is the only thing capable of ever satisfying me.

He’s the only hope for my life.

He holds everything I’ve ever wanted.

He is is everything I’ve ever searched for.”

It’s not about which way is better. That answer is obvious. It’s about whether or not you’re brave enough to set out into the unknown and experience what’s really real. That takes guts, and not too many people do it, let alone even realize the choice is theirs. If you find yourself in the sober place, don’t take it lightly, you never know when you’ll see things this clearly again.
