Hello dear brothers and sisters,

How many of you know that the book of James is strong?  Well, fasten your seat belts and hold on!

James 4:4 (GW) says,

  • You unfaithful people! Don’t you know that love for this evil world is hatred toward God? Whoever wants to be A FRIEND OF THIS WORLD is an enemy of God.

Wow, family!  Let’s adhere to this, as disciples (followers) of our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ!

Philippians 2:15 (LEV) says,

  • …be flawless in the midst of this crooked and perverse generation.

1 John 2:15-17 (NLT) tells us this:

  • 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

Are you still ok?  I know you can bear this because you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and want to do the things that please Him.

You may be asking, “Lisa, how can we do this?”

The first place we begin is by following the advise from Romans 12:2 (NLT)

  • Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

We all know this Scripture from the New King James Version as:

  • And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

This is the MOST IMPORTANT thing we can do after we’re born-again.  We want to think like God thinks, act like a God acts, and talk like God talks.  The  only way to be an imitator (an exact carbon copy) of the Father as dear children is to renew our minds and our thoughts to the Word of God.

Genesis 1:27 (AMP) says,

  • So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

You are complete in Him (Colossians 2:10).

Stand strong in your freedom (from sin)!

Randy and I love you and are praying for you today!

Love,

Lisa Gordon
