Hello dear ones,
Matthew 18:3-6 (NLT) says,
- Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are CONVERTED and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
The Love Expressed Version says,
- Amen (verily), I say to you, if you do not TURN and become as little boys and girls, you shall not enter the kingdom of the Heavens.
First, I want to focus your attention on the word, “CONVERTED“. I was amazed when I looked up this word. It means:
- Change
- Turn
- To convert by changing
- Transform
- Metamorphose
- Transfigure
- Change direction
- Go the other way (an “about face”)
- Taking an opposite or divergent course
- Dynamic change
- Turn back to one
- To turn oneself
- Turn back in your hearts
- To change one’s mind
- To turn around or reverse
So, how do we do this? Let’s see what the Word of God says ~ Romans 12:2 says,
- And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
By making our THINKING line up with God’s Word will affect a complete transformation in our lives.
If we fail to renew our minds to the Word of God, we can live our entire lives on this earth without experiencing the abundant life that Jesus provided for us (John 10:10).
When we renew or change our minds to think like God thinks, we will find God’s will for our lives.
As a matter of fact, it would be impossible to miss God’s will once we commit ourselves to God as a living sacrifice and begin to renew our minds.
Finding God’s will for our lives only becomes hard if we are not totally committed to God.
Secondly, in verse 4, Jesus tells us that whoever humbles himself as this little child, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Thirdly, when we devote our entire lives to God, coming to Him as little children, look at how the Father protects us. He says in Matthew 8:6
- Whoever snares (offends) one of these little ones who believe in Me, it would be expedient for them to hang a millstone, (one large enough requiring a donkey to turn it), around their necks and be sunk into the depths of the sea.
Whoa, Family! Look at how the Father protects those who come to Him as little children!
Let’s decide today to repent (think differently, change our minds, regretting our sins and changing our conduct), for the kingdom of God is at hand.
Blessings, children of God,
Lisa Gordon
