Good morning, family!
Galatians 6:14-15 (NLT) says,
- As for me, may I NEVER boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interests in me has also died. It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.
First of all, the Scripture declares in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Our spirits have been completely regenerated because of what Jesus Christ accomplished for us on the cross.
See, when Adam sinned at the very beginning, we were born into sin. Romans 5:12 (NLT) tells us,
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought (spiritual) death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned…Everyone died (spiritually) – from the time of Adam to the time of Moses – even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did…For the sin of this one man Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ….For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. For the sin of the one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His free gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this One Man, Jesus Christ.
Our spirits (the real us) died because of Adam’s sin, but thank God, that because of Jesus Christ, Colossians 1:13 says,
- He HAS delivered us from the power of darkness and HAS conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
That’s why we are to ONLY BOAST IN THE LORD and in all that HE has done for us.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NLT) says,
- This is what the Lord says, “Don’t let the WISE boast in their wisdom, or the POWERFUL boast in their power, or the RICH boast in their riches. But those who wish to BOAST should BOAST IN THIS ALONE: That they truly KNOW ME and understand that I Am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and Who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!
God has demonstrated His Own love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners!
Let’s make a decision to BOAST ONLY IN THE LORD!
