Good morning beloved!

1 Corinthians 8:1 says,

  • LOVE EDIFIES.

When we’re around the body of Christ, we should be loving one another, because LOVE EDIFIES ~ it will build us up!  This is our ministry to one another.

Let’s take a look at what LOVE looks like from the Word.  1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (AMP) says,

  • LOVE endures with patience and serenity; LOVE is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; LOVE does not brag and is not proud or arrogant.  It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured.  It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail].  LOVE bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].  LOVE never fails [it never fades nor ends].

If we are LOVING one another in this way, we are walking in the perfect will of God because according to 1 John 4:8, GOD IS LOVE!  John says, anyone who does not LOVE does not know God.

See, because God is LOVE, when we abide in LOVE, we’re abiding in God and God in us.  The Scripture makes it clear that we LOVE BECA– USE He first loved us.

1 John 4:7 says,

  • Beloved, let us LOVE one another, for LOVE is from God, and whoever LOVES has been born of God and knows God.

LOVE is a Person, family, not a feeling.

This Person, our precious Father showed His LOVE for us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Wow!  What LOVE!

“Well,” you may say, “What if I LOVE people and they hurt me?”  Well, first of all, 1 John 4:18 says,

  • There’s no fear in LOVE, but perfect LOVE casts out fear…and whoever fears has not been perfected in LOVE.

Walking in the LOVE of God is God’s commandment to us as believers.  John 13:34 says,

  • A new commandment I give to you, that you LOVE one another; as I have LOVED you, that you also LOVE one another.

Know that when we walk in the LOVE of God toward one another, God does not overlook it!  Hebrews 6:10 says,

  • For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and LOVE which you have shown for His Name in ministering to [the needs of] the saints (God’s people) as you do.

I love what Colossians 3:12-14 says,

  • Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.  But ABOVE ALL THESE THINGS, PUT ON LOVE, which is the bond of perfection.

See, LOVE does no wrong to a neighbor ~ LOVE fulfills the law (Romans 13:10).

LOVE is doing good.  I like to say, “I’m God-ing” people.

Acts 10:38 says,

  • God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Know this, the Father Himself LOVES you because You LOVE the Lord Jesus and have believed that He came from God (John 16:27).

We are told in John 15:13,

  • Greater LOVE has no man than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Being called “God’s children” is a high calling.  1 John 3:1 says,

  • See what kind of LOVE the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.

So, don’t be surprised if the world doesn’t want to know you!  You are born of God ~ His Spirit resides in you.  Your spirit is holy and the world’s is corrupt.  You are a light that shines in a dark place.

We are to be holy and blameless before God in LOVE (Ephesians 1:4).

In life, we are to aim for these things, according to 2 Corinthians 13:11:

  • Restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, and live in peace; and the God of LOVE and peace will be with you.

We have been taught by God to LOVE one another.  Let’s put on compassionate hearts, humility, kindness, meekness, and patience towards our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Husbands, LOVE your wives, as Christ LOVED the church and gave Himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25).

Wives, in the same way that the church is subject to Christ, be tenderly devoted to your husbands in everything, as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:22, 24).

Let’s prefer one another; honor one another, and be devoted to one another in LOVE.  Let’s LOVE each other with a genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other.

See, this is the way that all the world will know that we are His disciples, if we have LOVE for one another (John 13:35).

Also, remember, that we could speak in the tongues of men and of angels; have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and have all knowledge; have all faith so as to remove mountains; bestow all our goods to feed the poor and even give our bodies to be burned, but if we don’t LOVE, it profits us nothing.  “NOTHING?”, “No, NOTHING!”

Remember, apart from Jesus, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

Let’s learn to serve one another, LOVE one another to edification and be perfect, as our heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48).  LOVE covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

Walking in His LOVE today,

Lisa Gordon
