Good morning beloved!

The Bible is replete with Scriptures and stories supporting the revelance of watching and praying .  Today, it’s no different or any less significant to believers interested in hearing from God and aligning their lives to His will.

It’s imperative that we’re careful not to judge people by their ourward appearance, because God only looks at their hearts.  Learn not to judge by what you see with your natural eyes or hear with your natural ears.  Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to train your spiritual senses so that you can become sharp and accurate concerning spiritual matters.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:1 (NLT),

  • Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people.  I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in the Christian life.

The way we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit is to acknowledge that He is present inside of us and wants to guide us through life.  One of the most important things we can do to acknowledge His leadership is to refuse to allow situations to move us.  As believers, we have the ability to bypass natural processes and tap into the supernatural.  The Holy Spirit teaches us how to remain victorious in the natural realm.

In Romans 8:14-16 we read,

  • For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God…

We must submit to Him by yielding to His leadership.  I pray every day, “Lord, not my will, but Your will be done in my life.  I humble myself by casing all my cares upon You because You care for me.”

Because we are triune beings ~ We are a spirit, have a soul, and live in a physical body, it’s important that we understand that the Holy Spirit speaks to the spirit part of us.  This is where He dwells, within our spirits.  Proverbs 20:27 says,

  • The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart.

And John 14:16-17 states,

  • And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

The Holy Spirit’s job is to guide us through life.  John 16: 13 tells us this:

  • However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come…

The Holy Spirit will always guide us by an inward witness.  Make sure you quiet your mind and emotions by praying in tongues before making any decisions.  Seek God in prayer.  He will lead you through an inward voice (your spirit speaks to you based on what it receives from the Holy Spirit).  The more Word you have in your heart, the easier it will be to hear the Holy Spirits voice because the Spirit and the Word agree (see 1 John 5:7).  This is how I hear the Holy Spirit.

Remember, your feelings are the voice of your body.  Your reasoning is the voice of your soul.  Your conscience is the voice of your spirit (when you become born-again, you can trust your conscience).

We can train our spirits to hear the Holy Spirit by doing the following things:

  1. Feed on the Word of God
  2. Walk in love
  3. Pray in tongues

Here are some things you can ask yourself when you think you have heard from the Holy Spirit:

  1. Does it require faith and courage?
  2. Does it go against the reasoning and rationalizations of the world?
  3. Does it line up with the Word of God?

I pray you were encouraged today!

All my love,
