Hello glorious ones!

It’s easy to become distracted by our problems and when we focus on our problems and our inability to solve them, we ignore God and His glorious plan for our lives.  God wants us to know Him on a deeper level, but we can’t know Him or the depth of His love for us if we don’t first turn to Him when the issues of life weigh us down.  When we seek Him more, we’ll begin to grow stronger in Him and in His love.

Ephesians 3:16-19 declares that as believers, God wants us to experience Him by cultivating our love for Him and for others.  We grow stronger on the inside when we anchor ourselves in His unconditional love.  To know love is to know God because God is love.  God wants us to experience His love, not just know about it.  It’s so important to know what the Word of God says about His love.  When we obey God’s Word, it’s one of the ways we demonstrate our love for Him.

When we choose to obey God, we’re actually choosing to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.  Galatians 5:16 tells us that we must live according to God’s Word instead of living in opposition to it.  When we set our minds on the Word of God, we’ll not act contrary to it.

Many times, the enemy uses trouble, emotional turmoil, or heaviness to distract us.  Sometimes, these emotional battles cause us to worry and struggle to break free by using our own strength instead of depending on God.  If we become too distracted, we may not even feel like doing what we know to do.  Despite our current circumstances, we must continue to obey God.

When we remain fixed and established in God’s Word, it demonstrates our trust in Him.  Who do you turn to when trouble comes?  Where do you hide?”  “Are you more dependent on people than on God?”  “Do you depend more on the world?”  Remember to stay focused on the Word of God at all times.  You will be blessed when you place your total trust in Him.

Ask yourself this question:  “Have I been distracted emotionally by worrying about my circumstances, or have I been trusting God?”  When we don’t obey God’s Word, we’ll eventually be led astray by the world.  The world’s ways oppose God’s ways.  1 John 2:15-17 says,

  • Do not love the world or the things in the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

In order to have true success in the kingdom of God, we must fulfill God’s specific will for our lives by renewing our minds to the Word of God and not being conformed to this world.  Continue to abide in God’s presence by continuing to abide in His Word.

Abiding in Him,
