Good morning precious ones!

Job 32:8 says,

  • But there is a spirit in man, and THE BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY gives him understanding.

The Scripture tells us in Hebrews 11:3 that through faith, we understand that the world’s came into being and still exist at the command of the Word of God.  God spoke and it came into existence.  He said “LIGHT BE” and there was light (Genesis 1:3).  He issued the decree and it stood firm.  This is what Psalm 33:9 tells us!

God brought into the temporal what already existed in the spirit realm by the power of His Word (Hebrews 1:3).  Then He BREATHED His very Spirit into humility.  It is His Spirit in you that gives you inspiration and understanding of what already exists in the spirit realm.

Your spirit in you is eternal and it is the source of all revelation and inspiration.

God’s Spirit creates a blueprint in the form of understanding and from that blueprint, all things come to be.

So, what is THE BREATH OF LIFE?  It is God’s own breath (pneuma) or Spirit that He breathed into man.  In Genesis 2:7 we read,

  • And the Lord God FORMED man of the DUST of the ground and BREATHED into his nostrils THE BREATH OF LIFE; and man became a living SOUL.

This distinguishes us from all of God’s other creatures.

The word “FORMED” means “to moldshape, or form.”  Think about a potter who has the intelligence and the power to form his creation.  God had the image of man within His mind and He possessed the power and the intelligence to bring that image to life.  Just think about that:  YOU ARE CREATED IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD!  How can your day be normal after pondering that?

God BREATHED His Own BREATH OF LIFE into man.  We are more than “dust” or physical substance.  We have a spirit.  Adam’s body was formed by God from the dust of the earth – a lifeless human body lying on the ground.  Then God leaned over and “breathed” His Own “BREATH OF LIFE” into the man’s nostrils.  God is the Source of Life and He directly placed life within man.  John 20:22 says,

  • And when He had said this, He BREATHED on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

This BREATH OF LIFE is seen as Jesus imparts new life to His disciples.  We became a living soul when God BREATHED THE BREATH OF LIFE into us.  The word “soul” in Hebrews means, “an animated, breathing, conscious, living being.  We did not become a living soul until God BREATHED into us.  As a physical, animate, rational, and spiritual being, we are unique among all living things upon the earth.  That’s why David says in Psalm 8:4-6,

  • What is man that You are mindful of him?…For You have created him a little lower than God (Elohim) and You have crowned him with glory and honor.  You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet…

We are truly fearfully and wonderfully made.  Hallelujah!
