Good morning prayer warriors!
If we want to break through the impossible, we need to know that PRAYER connects us with God ~ PRAYER connects us to the supernatural. We read in James 5:16 (Amp),
- The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
PRAYER is the power souce that changes the impossible into the possible. 1 John 5:14-15 says that we can have confidence when we pray,
- And this is the confidence (the assurance, the priviledge of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that is we ask anything (make any request or petition) according to His will (in agreement with His Own plan), He listens and hears us. And (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have the requests made of Him.
Verse 14 says, “If we ask ANYTHING according to His will, He hears us. So, the key to answered prayer is ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.
I like knowing when I say, “Amen” at the end of my prayer that God has heard me and will answer my prayer.
Notice verse 15 – This is talking about the PRAYER OF PETITION. THE PRAYER OF PETITION begins with the known will of God. You’re not praying THE PRAYER OF PETITION to find out the will of God. We can’t even scripturally pray this prayer without knowing the will of God at first.
Let’s take a look at John 15:7 (Amp). It says,
- If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My Words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
Notice that a key to answered prayer is you abiding in the Lord Jesus and His Words abiding in you! So, you may be asking, “Why is it so important that God’s Word abide in us? Because God’s Word is a revelation of God’s will!
If you want to know the will of God, go to the Word of God. God will never say something in His Word and will the opposite. That’s why if you want to know His will where your health is concerned, GO TO THE WORD! The Word says, “By Jesus’ stripes, you were healed!”
If you look at Isaiah 53, you’ll find out that it was the will of God to bruise Jesus – God sent Jesus to the cross not only for our salvation and redemption, but for our healing. That’s why we never pray, “Lord, if it be Thy will, heal me ~ If it be Thy will, prosper me.” That is not a scriptural prayer. God’s will for your prosperity is expressed in His Word.
3 John 2 says,
- Beloved, I pray above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
You may say, “How do you know God’s Word IS His will?” Because all Scripture has been given by inspiration of God. 2 Timothy 3:16 says,
- All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
Use the Word of God as a weapon against the enemy just like Jesus did when He said, “It is written.”
THE PRAYER OF PETITION is the kind of prayer that produces the quickest results in the most impossible situations because it’s constructed based upon the final authority of God’s Word.
