Dear elect of God, holy and beloved,

We’ve all heard about how important prayer is, but how many of us are PERSEVERING IN PRAYER?

Colossians 4:12 (LEV) says,

  • Epaphras…always struggles for your sake in prayer.

What was he praying for?  Verse 12 goes on to say,

  • Praying that you may stand mature, being filled with all of the will of God.

Wow, family, we need each other!  We are all part of ONE body, and when one suffers, we ALL suffer; when ONE rejoices, we ALL rejoice.

Luke 18:1-8 is a perfect example of what PERSEVERANCE IN PRAYER looks like!  (For the sake of space, we will only look at verses 1&5, although I encourage you to read all of it)!

  • 1 Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up)… 5 Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last she come and rail on me or assault me or strangle me.

Jesus also gives us another amazing parable of PERSEVERANCE  IN PRAYER in Luke 11:5-10,

  • 5 He also said to them: “Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, 6 because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I don’t have anything to offer him.’ 7 Then he will answer from inside and say, ‘Don’t bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I have gone to bed. I can’t get up to give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he won’t get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend’s persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs. 9 “So I say to you, keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

I encourage you to search for the Lord and for His strength and to seek His face always!

Please pray for us, that God would open a door for us to speak the Word.

Randy and I have a great zeal for you!

Love,

Lisa Gordon
