Good morning strong ones!

The Scritpure declares that we are not to be ignorant of satan’s devices. Just like football teams have playbooks, charting out the tactics to be used in the game, God’s Word is our playbook ~ it contains our set of strategies to be used against OUR ADVERSARY.

Here’s what the Word tells us about OUR ADVERSARY:

1 Peter 5:8 says,

  • “Be sober, be vigilant; because YOUR ADVERSARY, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

The devil walks around seeking whom he may devour because there are Christians whom he may not devour!  They are believers who are submitted to and trust in God’s Word.

You’re fighting against a foe you can’t see; that’s why it’s called spiritual warfare.  You can’t defeat YOUR ADVERSARY in your own strength and ability. The Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4

  • “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.”

We do this by being humble and submitting to God’s will (His Word) and His ways. “Why?”, you may ask. “Because 1 Peter 5:5 says,

  • God resists the proud, but He gives grace – His enabling power – to the humble.”

Ephesians 6:11 instructs us to:

  • “Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Your armour is total dependence on God’s Word to deliver you.   James 4:7 says,

  • “Therefore submit to God (to His Word). Resist the devil (OUR ADVERSARY) and he will flee from you – run in stark terror.”

Jesus already secured victory for you.  Colossians 3:15 says,

  • “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, TRIUMPHING over them in it.”

This makes you extremely dangerous to the kingdom of darkness, but you MUST appropriate what Jesus did for you.   Take it by faith.  You no longer fight for victory; you fight from a place of victory!

Ephesians 6:10 (AMP) says,

  • “In conclusion, my brothers and sisters, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].”

Meditate on this truth until you develop full trust and confidence in God’s Word on how to defeat THE ADVERSARY.  Through your union with Him (spending time meditating on His Word and praying in the spirit), you’ll remain strong, firm, and immoveable in the midst of every challenge and battle you’ll ever confront in life.

Jesus tells us in John 6:33 (AMP),

  • “I have told you these things, so that in Me, you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation, trials, distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]!  For I have overcome the world.  [I have deprived it of its power to harm you and have conquered it for you].”

Let me pray this for you:

“Father, I thank You that OUR ADVERSARY is no match against my readers, because I believe that they are men and woman who trust in Your ability to obtain victory over the storms of life.  Thank you that, even though the enemy (OUR ADVERSARY) came to steal, kill and destroy us, JESUS came that we might have and enjoy life and have it in abundance, to the full, until it overflows.  We are not ignorant of satan’s devices or deceitful strategies that are hidden behind every challenge.  We are aware that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, (against difficult people), but are contending with spiritual opponents. Thank You, Lord, that we can stand still and see the salvation of our God.  The battle is Yours, and the victory is ours.   We have already won!  Help us to stand steadfast in our victory, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Standing strong in the Lord and in the power of His might,
