Hello content ones!👋🏻
1 Timothy 6:6 says,
- Godliness with CONTENTMENT is great gain.
What would people pay to have peace and contenemtent in this crazy world today? Jesus said in John 14:27 (NLT),
- I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
It is good to have God’s vision always set before you, stretching your faith, and growing by believing God for impossible things, but while you are waiting for things to change and for God’s promises to come to pass, do not be dis–CONTENTED with where you are.
The Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:11-13 (NKJV),
- …I have learned in whatever state I am, to be CONTENT; I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.
Notice that Paul had to LEARN to be CONTENT. It does not just happen automatically. It is a choice we have to make. If we do not learn to be CONTENT in the season we are in, discontentment will follow us wherever we go. We have got to train ourselves to always see the goodness of God and to be grateful for what we have.
When I go out walking in the morning, I thank God that my legs work; that I can breathe clearly through my lungs; that my eyes can see and my ears can hear.
Let us choose not to be frustrated, stressed out, and dissatisfied.
I like to say it this way: CONTENTMENT is a perfect condition of life where no aid or support outside of God is necessary or required.
I love what Jesus said in Luke 12:15 (NIV),
- Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.
Be CONTENT with who God made you to be ~ Afterall, you have been created in His image and likeness.
Walking in God’s contentment,
